That is just like the Chevy Cruze 1.4L. it is part of the PCV "system" which means there is likely a check valve in the intake manifold which is part of the "system" meaning they work together, if the valve cover part fails you should probably also replace the intake manifold as well because it too will eventually fail.Leaking Intake – If the intake seal on the Chevy Cruze has been damaged, there’ll be a vacuum leak. A vacuum leak means that air will be getting in to the intake not through the throttle. This is going to dramatically alter the reading at the mass airflow sensor gets and will trigger P1101.After checking engine codes (P1101, P0171, P0354), I inspected for vacuum leaks that might be the cause and removed the PCV valve exactly as instructed in the video at the link below (starts about 7 minutes in)... It could just be moisture / condensation (and NOT coolant) from the engine not being properly vented. Your PCV fix may not have actually fixed the problem.
