The tether distance has been a problem on evolved and still is on console versions, the PC version of evolved has been out long enough for things to change. This game is early access and many people have crashing problems, un-tethered non-dedicated can cause crashes so they have it in place so as not to add something that could cause further ...You can increase further then the slider allows by entering a number instead. Increasing the Tether Distance is a feature that is very easily accessible in the game. All you really need to do is look around in the General Settings menu of the game when you are hosting a non-dedicated session. There is no tether if you play on xbox series x but it's a little bugged. I think playing on "The Island" or "Scorched Earth" is your safest bet, "Aberration" bugs out when you're on the higher plateaus.

Extended tether distance for non-dedi games from 180 to 800". so the tether is better than it was, No need to give nitrado any money, easiest way to play with friends is with a privately hosted dedicated server.
