I have had nothing but trouble with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ implementation of split screen. When I first tried, I had the same issue you are with my spouse. Then after that, we FINALLY managed to get it to start and we have constant freezing up and having to force close (but definitely no crash log, nope). My game crashes in split screen in the goblin camp, ruined village, in the forge and now in the moonlight tower map. Me and my boyfriend are having to play with only one screen but it's bad because his character basically won't make any progress with karlach and the story. Same with me sort of. Crashing immediately after updating drivers, either right after clicking play from the launcher or when trying to load a save. Tried DX11, Vulkan, admin mode, verifying game files, reinstalling the drivers, probably 20 times before I gave up. Unfortunately, rolling back the drivers didn't help either. Bg3 is literally unplayable on PS5 split screen right now. BUGS. Since patch 5 the game is literally unplayable on PS5 in split screen mode. To not trigger a crash on startup we have to both disconnect from the internet, and log in with second character in the main menu. Still there are game breaking amounts of lag, and frequent crashes.

BUGS. Give the game FULL attention. TLDR; Don’t have any other systems (YouTube, Music, Task Manager) running and don’t alt+tab out of the game. If you stay in the game and just do that, it gives you the least chances of crashing.
