Basically, you bait the backstab attempt with the 1HR2, but then follow it up by aiming your follow up R2 at your opponent. I have hit countless people who've tried to backstab me with this strategy. So long as you can recognize if you can get the turn before they can get the backstab, you're golden. 1.This video doesn't show the followup strong attack. The character basically just flips around and repeats the attack, instead of turning around and hitting the other way in Dark Souls 2 which is mostly useless.
