It's good for a lot of things yes. bofa is pretty decent without armor, not incredible however. I did see semtecks use the bofa at zuk for the extended range. 1 def iron yes (no scale/dart supply), 1 def normie just use blowpipe with amethyst darts. Its same strength as diamond bolts, more accuracy than acb and faster.
Bowfa and full crystal or bowfa full crystal minus helm and sub in the slayer helm? Slayer helm (i) is +15% damage and accuracy. Crystal helm is 2.5% damage 5% accuracy. Slayer helm is better. So I've tried bowfa at ggs, it's more chill yes, but I wouldn't count on it skipping orbs. That being said, I was using bowfa without crystal armour, so my testing isn't 100% accurate. Will be trying it out later with crystal armour, but I still think ddarts with bp is overall better dps than bowfa.
I spooned a T-Bow. I bring Crystal armour to CoX mostly because at Shamans/Mystics/Baby Mutta the T-Bow isn't that good, for other raids like ToB (elite ranged void) and ToA (Karils/God D'Hide) you aren't using the Bowfa so the crystal armour is basically the same as Karils/God D'hide.I am in the process of going dry in CG (733kc at the moment) and have 4,816 crystal shards. Out of those, I need to make and corrupt a bowfa. I also have 7 extra armor seeds and 18 reg weapon seeds. To cope with the grind, I kinda wanna make a second set of crystal armor (my current set has around 9k charges in each piece).
Owning crystal + masori is a bit strange for a main especially without even the bowfa, but if you were an iron you wouldn't suggest "getting rid" of masori. If Iron then I'd suggesting grinding until bowfa. If you get enhanced seed before armor seeds then you skip it. (or if you're really lucky you get to use the better bowfa without crystal armor) Truth is: when gauntlet came out, the blade was 1/400. When they added bowfa and made it a seed drop, they didn't adjust the drop rate to account for there now being two weapons you'd want.
Blow pipe/Addy darts (full crystal armor) get 6.51 dps while the bowfa (full crystal armor) gets 8.15 dps. if you add it all together it means that for every corrupted crystal tool/armour/weapon (excl the keyring & the normal crystal bow (as bowfa is just better)) you'd need 10600 crystal shards. a long long grind to be sure as the corrupted gauntlet (the best method to consistently get crystal shards, gets you 7 shards on average & you'd need 1514 …
