I think there are a lot of variables: Mods, tire size, gearing, additional equipment you are carrying. If I drive up I-70 out of Denver- a lot of uphil driving- at 65 mph and air condoning on, temp gauge goes 3/4+.The hood still comes up a couple inches. If you are overheating at higher speeds probably the clutch fan. When the jeep is hot (running for a while), turn off the jeep. Go under the hood and spin the clutch fan by hand, if it moving freely (no resistance) then you have a bad clutch fan.

A lot of us (including myself) don't really like seeing the numbers so high, but there's no choice but to accept that the engineers designed the engine to operate at this temperature range.
