Majestic Colonial Punta Cana is a spectacular 5-star all-inclusive resort designed to blend in with the exuberant flora and wildlife of the Dominican Republic, in perfect harmony with the gentle breeze of this incredible strip of coastline. It is undoubtedly the ideal place to chill out and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The Splash is located behind the Royalton Punta Cana. A shuttle is provided to bring you to the beach area. The Elegance is slightly more elegant but the Colonial has more of a family vibe. They are next to each other, so the beach is the same. Both are lush and tropical as well as compact.I have only stayed at the Elegance - just got back from our 3rd visit, and have heard good things about the Colonial as well! Though both resorts have an AO section, the Colonial leans more towards families as compared to the Majestic. The Elegance had more people at it and seemed to be more active in the evening. That could be due to the Mirage only being a year old and not selling out yet. As for better we never experienced the service or the food at the elegance or colonial but i'm sure it would be just like the Mirage. Was at the Colonial in Mar. 2023. Beautiful place. Food was great. Staff amazing. Clean. Beach was excellent with very little sargassum. It was busy with the Spring Breakers but that negative was all about timing. Overall I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the Majestic resorts. Stayed in the Colonial Club. Room directly on the beach.

The majestic colonial is the sister resort of the majestic elegance and is right next door. The grounds layout is almost the same. The advantage that the colonial has is that it is a few years old and has had all opening glitches resolved and the landscaping has 2 years of growth. My preference is---MAJESTIC all the way.The club sections in the Majestic Elegance and Majestic Colonial are adult only, but there are still kids throughout the rest of the resort. The Colonial has more kids than the Elegance by far. Based on what you want, I think Breathless would be a better fit for a solo travel in their 30s out of the 3 resorts.
