What I really want is a normal rear iron sight mounted behind the red dot. On the plain P365, I can get that by keeping its factory dovetail as is, and having its slide custom milled for a red dot in front of the dovetail. I can't do that with the P365XL, because Sig makes all of them already cut for optics, with the cut too far back.
