Each year thousands of birds die due to abuse, neglect, or accidental escape. A pet bird that gets loose has a very limited chance of survival. The volunteers at Parrot Rescue are often asked to help in these situations. We work to see that lost birds are reunited with their loving owners and abused or unwanted birds find new, loving environments.
Any bird heading to a rehabber should be placed in a dark box and away from stimulation. Indiana Audubon Society and the Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary receives many calls and emails every year to assist in injured or sick wildlife.
