Jake brake not working on high.

Apr 29, 2013. #1. Hi im new to the fourm and I'm from hawaii, current truck driver / mechanic and having trouble with the eng. brakes on my n14 cummins eng. I have power in and out of the clutch switch, I also have power at the on off switch but no power going to the selector switch would this be an electronic throttle isue or a computer isue.The housings are marked front and rear. Make sure they are right, or they will not work. If they are, start the engine and manually push down on the solenoid. Some, you have to have a sharp point to push the plunger. The activation plungers should push down against the exhaust rocker adjusting bolts.really ECM output has current sensor. not sure, but may get short circuit fault code. In 24 v trucks it works, not sure about 12v trucks. Ok, before u do it, check wires and solenoids with DVOM. May be electrical parts are ok,and just valve is stuckBest. There are only three things that can cause this. The first and most common is a faulty harness. Your engine has two. You have already replaced the one under the valve cover so I would suspect the outer harness. Second are shorted jake solenoids. It's very rare for all of then to short out. Lastly is a faulty ECM.Snow and ice provide very little to zero traction. It takes very careful driving in these conditions. When you apply the jakes it slows the tractor only and the trailer is traveling faster than the tractor. The trailer is pushing the tractor and will cause you to jack knife.
