The jeep isn't running hot at all. The temp needle never gets past half or even up to half way. When I start the jeep the fan is not on.Got heat out of heater core. 5. So we know the 2012+ JKs certainly CAN run cooler if they need to. Yet they were designed to run at the temps they run. Must have been a reason. I was just reading in a car magazine that some new car, forget which one, actually has a split cooling system. The heads run at 195 degrees and the block runs at 220 degrees.

2012 2-dr JK - I actually just had my thermostat changed and that's when I started having trouble with the fan always running on High. On Start, it is fine. But driving it up my road at 35mph, in no time it's kicking on High. Once it gets on high speed, the temp fluctuates between half to 3/4 hot.

The pentastar does run on the hot side for better efficiency. Also keep in mind that the coolant temperature sensor is located at the left (driver) side engine head.
