There are vents all around if you don't have portable AC. The whole thing is shiny and reflects heat. It's also great in the winter with a Mr Buddy, as it is somewhat insulated. I had a shiftpod 2, and thought about cutting custom flooring for it but that would just become another thing to store, and to clean. Instead I got cheap lightweight moving blankets from harbor freight and used those as a flooring surface.
