I sometimes still have issue getting it into 2nd quickly when down shifting. I don't have many miles on the MGW, so maybe it will loosen up.

As mentioned, the box is the same for both C5 and C6. Yes it does require an adaptor (sold on their website). Just a note - I purchased the adaptor for the standard C7 shifter, but the MGW shaft is slightly larger in diameter, preventing the adaptor from sliding completely down on the shaft.
