Pinch detect fault litter robot 4.
My litter robot has not been spinning for the past 2 days, I finally got time this evening to disassemble it and try to fix it. My symptoms were: flashing blue indicator light (as if box is as full when it was empty) and if by some miracle it did cycle it would stop after dumping the clumps down below.

The pinch sensors are simple, just two metal leafs that separate when a pinch is detected. The leaves however can get out of alignment or can corrode and disintegrate. Since our cats show very little interest I’ve rolled the dice and just bypassed the pinch detectors since they failed last. I have had the pinch detect warning come up a handful of times now in the past 3 months or so. Usually I just take apart the machine, clean out any debris, make sure the pinch detect metal pieces are in place and touching, put the machine back together and typically that will fix the issue. This time, however, nothing seems to work.

First one had no trouble with DFI for years; second one I bought refurbished and DFI went in 2 months. I replaced the DFI on first one, that lasted only 2 months.
