I think the mono mix of Rubber Soul is the way to go for that album, even though "Michelle" sounds pretty lousy. The original stereo mix has some balance issues regarding the volume of the instruments relative to the voices, plus the awkward panning. The remix retains most of the poor panning decisions and adds unnecessary reverb.

First off Pet Shop Boys are one of my favorite artists. Now others won't all agree with this statement but I think the producer of the last 3 albums is terrible and started a decline in terms of great song. The last 3 album's in my opinion are dummed down. Nothing in the way of great melodies.

For the poster that thinks the VM95ML is not that good they are using a $1.5k cartridge to compare the VM95ML. And, the boring sounding MP-110 does not compare. The VM95ML is an incredible performer for the dollars spent. It is perfect for medium mass tone arms.

The Remaster doesn't is not bad it's just a bit bright and less pleasing to my ears. the original has simply a better tonality. The Remaster is just about 1DB louder than the first release.
