Nioh 1 first weapon was a Kusarigama. Nioh 2 first weapon was a Switchglaive. I was also a new user but invested into all of the weapons to see what plays the best (for me) The combo strings of the Switchglaive is something else start low go medium end high, reverse it or start medium go low end high. Amazing weapon thats why I recommended it.

Those two weapons have great synergy (except possibly with scaling), since spear is long range heavy hits, and kusa is short range rapid hits.
