After reading all the various posts here and watching the various videos, I swapped out the microswitch today. When done with the repair and drove- it shifted the same. Still took 3 seconds to engage Drive from park. I drove for a few days- which involved some cold engine starts. About 80 miles later- the trans began to shift properly.
