Hello all, Just found this forum and looking for guidance. I drive a 2017 F150 with 2.7 ecoboost with 47K miles. I am the original owner. In recent weeks have notice a grinding noise coming from front driver's wheel when going at low speed. Also notice a drop off in mpg. Used to get 21.4 mpg combined and dropped to 18.5 mpg.When under pressure, the checkvalve is supposed to close, and prevent loss of vacuum to the hubs. Downstream of that checkvalve is the 4X4 solenoid. When in 2wd, this solenoid provides vacuum to the hubs keeping them disengaged. If the sound increases/changes pitch with the speed of the engine (while standing still or moving) then it's an engine issue, if it changes with the vehicle speed then it's a driveline problem.
