Jake brake not working on high.
Hi. I got the same engine. It's because you are letting the RPMs get to high with the Jake on. "Feather" your jake between hi and low and use you brakes a very little and the problem goes away. I can usually prevent it by turning the jake off for a second or two if the RPMs are above 2K and then back on.

Just had ECM replaced and now Engine Brake (Jake) does not work. New ECM was programed to show unit has engine brake. Has anyone encountered this situation and most importantly what is the fix. Cummins in Irvine could not get it to work.....suggested going to repair facility that is familiar with Monaco chassis and wiring.

A Jake brake (short for Jacobs Vehicle Systems) is a hydraulic override of the exhaust valves on large diesels that allows compression pressure to "bleed" out the exhaust and up the stacks.
