We find that SRI mutual funds care about their investee firms' ESG performance. In terms of economic significance, a one standard deviation increase in a firm's ESG score (ESG S) increases the odds of receiving investment from SRI mutual funds by approximately 12.4% to 41.6% in the following year.
The major limitation of these studies is the dichotomous way in which they view mutual funds as either SRI or non-SRI.
